CLEAN UP TIPS
As we all know – painting is harder than it looks. There are inevitably going to be a few spills and slips of the brush along the way. Cleaning of paint drips on flooring and other substrates is tedious work as it involves a good amount of time and care to clean up after any accidents.
The best way to cleaning paint
Drips Care should be always taken that any paint fallen on the floor should be immediately wiped. Articles like fans, chandeliers, cupboards, centre tables, beds, chairs, etc. should always be covered with plastic sheet to avoid having to clean them at a later stage.
Here are some tips for cleaning of various types of paint drips on different surfaces:
Cleaning Water Based Paints
Interior as well as exterior including water based luxury enamel and primers:
- Wet condition
Immediately wash with cold water and wipe with clean cloth. - Dried condition
First, the drip should be soaked with water or diluted dish washing liquid. The film should be scrapped by a suitable scraper. While scratching, care should be taken not to damage the value and appearance of the surface, especially in case of wooden, marble or metal.
Cleaning Solvent Based Paints
Enamels, interior wall paints like lustre or matt, all primers, knifing paste filler:
- Wet condition
Immediately wash with mineral turpentine oil and wipe with clean cloth. - Dried condition
The drip should be soaked with mineral turpentine. Following that scratch the film with a suitable scraper. While scratching, care should be taken not to damage the value and appearance of the surface, especially in case of wooden, marble or valuable metal articles or surfaces. Then the area should be wiped with water or diluted detergent solution and dried.
